This was the biggest Adventure so far for me, I left a couple of days earlier to bond with the new GSW and join up with some of the BMW Riders of Knoxville for an overnight ride to the "Back of the Dragon" out of Marion, VA. The total trip was 10 days and 3,347 miles of which 2,277 was in the Appalachia mountains. I got a lot of practice putting on my rain gear and riding thru afternoon thunderstorms, of the 10 days only 3 were dry. I have a bad habit of packing a camera, but not stopping to use it, so here are a few I have: Selfie on the Blue Ridge Parkway on my way to TN New GSW 2nd trip to BRP overlook Here Comes the Rain Again (Overlook in VA) Overlook in VA, better get to hotel before those afternoon Thunderstorms start firing off! Having Dinner at the High Valley Resort Cabin All Full and Enjoying Cool Evening Air and Cold Beer Made a run down Wayah road and up to the Goat Bald overlook, barely see Nantahala Lake (just above helmet) Once down off mountain made a stop to watch the whitewater rafters entering the Nantahala River, there was about two feet of fog on top of the water Here is what it looked like downstream, I guess you would call this "blind rapids" Stopped by Deals Gap for Newbie Jerry Pease on our way to BBQ lunch in Maryville, TN This is the 3rd Annual trip to 411 Full Service BBQ, we first found this place by accident on our way to the Summer Adv in Kentucky a couple years back. This year we rode thru Happy Valley crossing the Foothills Parkway going north. After lunch we put on our rain gear and rode thru another thunderstorm less than halfway up the Foothills Parkway, ran the Dragon a second time heading south, and for good measure ran the Cherohala Skyway, was a long day 326 miles. The GSW 3rd trip this year up to the BRP overlook, this time with Roger & Jerry for lunch (Turn up the Volume) Stopped by the Old Batesville Country Store for breakfast And Frank can finally stop waiting!

Nice guys. Going through the pictures it occurred to me that everyone looks the happiest when they are sitting at a table ready to eat!

This is a picture of Warwoman Road which was recently paved and just painted. What we thought was oil seeping in the center of the lane was actually tacky, but it was the reflective silica added to the paint that made it extremely slippery. You can see the excessive silica coming loose off the centerline and was more slippery than Florida sand! The two white lines in the lower corner are from Bill's GSA, that bike is a Tank, I was able to ride it back to Clayton so we could recover it. There is no cell service in this area, but some very helpful locals drove back to their house and called rescue services. Any one of us could have gone down this day!

Just received my Kill.boy photo's from the Dragon..... We left Full Service BBQ in the rain and hit a heavy down pour on the Foothills Parkway, but it had stopped raining by the time we headed up the Dragon, no traffic but wet roads. Fred Swisher, Roger Edwards, Dan Ashline, and Jerry Pease (just around the corner) Dragon was mostly dry the day before..... but a whole lot more fun...... ..........bonding with my new GS!

Awesome pictures. I wish I could figure out how to post pictures. I have them in my phone and copy them but they won't paste. Maybe it's a mobile issue.

I just upload my pictures to photo bucket and then just paste them into my post. I will show up as a link but if you preview the post you will see the way the post looks with the pictures.
