Another great Summer Adventure is in the books! Made it home safe and sound. Mark let me know he made it to Orlando without any problems. Will post a Dirty Dozen ride report soon (since most of my riding was offroad!).

Well another Summer Adventure is in the books! Thanks to Dan and Mark as always. Murray you are the off road king, you found some of the best routes thru the woods, simply awesome. Here are a few pics of our trip. First night at the High Valley Resort Here are the cabins Most of the non offroaders! The entire crew quit that day! Can you blame them. Our friend Roland from the east coast of Fl. We crossed this bridge on our bikes! Did a 90 degree turn and then went down six stairs. Not sure what we were thinking, it was great! Only statue of Murray in the USA! My next Guzzi!! How many people had this view today? Nice F650GS Here we are buying socks! Once I figure out how to edit videos I will make a short film of our off road highlights, stay tuned. If you enjoyed the pics join us next year. We have been doing this ride since 2006.

Thank you for all those Riders that participated in the 2012 Summer Adventure and contributed in making this a successful ride. I think that both on road and off road riders had a good time. Peter and I made it home safely last night and only hit rain South of Dade City. We had some discussions of ideas for next summer's adventure while in Suches and will actively pursue the topic in a few months.

I'm actually not home yet. I had to ride to Orlando from Suches for an MSF update and now the weather had turned bad and I had to hold up her another day. Will try to get home tomorrow.

I'm still grinning thinking of all the twisties! ;D Thanks to Mark and Dan for organizing this adventure again and thanks to the rest of the participants for making it so enjoyable too. BTW, I did slay The Dragon three times, but almost got bit on the last run... Let's just say, it was a good time to leave. Pretty good for 954 turns in 33 miles in just over an hour. Video to come soon! Rob and I rode back roads home, but decided to hop on I-75 at Macon to get home in a little less rain in Florida. I got home around 7pm safe and sound, a little damp and exhausted. Rob?

I made it home yesterday. It was an "adventure" in itself to ride on i4 with a very gusty cross wind. Has to lay down on the tank to get across the Howard Franklin bridge.
Another challenge met by the ROTB with this year's Summer Adventure. The motorcycling skills displayed this year were of the highest quality. Well done riders!
Looking forward to next year's adventure and the new challenges it brings.
Mark

Thanks for posting the pics Frank, they turned out nice. I arrived home Saturday night about 830pm, locked out of my house because Mark didn't return my house key to me. My ankle is still really sore from the mishap in Chicago. I went to Tampa this morning from St. Pete and was having a hard time fighting the winds and salt spray on the Howard Frankland bridge on I-275. I really enjoyed the trip with you guys, I think it is the highlight of my year so far. I can't wait until next year. One idea I have for next year is a trip to Kentucky to do the bourbon trail.

Robb; glad you finally got into your house Saturday night. I don't know if the boubon trail would work for a summer adventure but I think it could work for a theme ride. When we rode to Nova Scotia a few years ago, one of Hank Lisheid's goals was to stop in a brewery which I think is the only single malt distiller in North America. Hank and I toured the brewery and I really enjoyed it. Of course, it wasn't located in a dry county and we were able to sample the wares! May be you should start a thread in Ride Planning to see if there is any interest.
Thanks for join us this year.

Thanks for the pictures, looks like I missed a great adventure, but had a blast with the family in Italy and now in London. I thought I new how to handle a bike, but the people in Italy are crazy with their scooters and I saw GSA & LT's splitting lanes! At every light the scooters and bikes would zig zag thru traffic and bunch up in the front and the mad dash would start all over again. Glad everyone made it back and can't wait to here the stories. Don't worry Larry, Bourbon can be used to disinfect wounds.

Good job Roger. That barrel roll was fun. We'll have to try that again! I can't believe how sharp the picture is on that little camera. Have any footage going on rt 60? How did the dragon video turn out?

How did the dragon video turn out? D Thanks Dan. I do have footage riding on Rt. 60, it was the Monday morning ride to breakfast. I have finished the Dragon ride video, it turned out great. I just have to cut it into a Part 1 & 2 to meet youtube requirements. I'll be doing that tonight, maybe. I 'll post up the link when it is ready. I relive it everytime I watch it, still smiling now!

Roger, I noticed there was no SNG on the video though. Do you have any video demonstrating the proper technique from the Summer Adventure? ;D As you know, there was not much "Stop" "N" a whole lot of "Go" on the Summer Adventure. Most of time we were in twisties riding single file, but we had our moments. I have SNG footage of Mark, you, Frank, and me riding sweep through Dahlonega. The historic town is more interesting than the riding aspect. Would you like me to post it?

While I'm prepping the SNG video, click below to see my 1st ever Tail of the Dragon experience. Oh yeah! Turn up the volume, sit back and enjoy the ride!
