What is “Stop n Go?” • The group separates into packs of four. • Lead of each pack maintains visual on the group ahead • Sweep for each pack keeps the group behind in sight or waits at next turn. • You are responsible for keeping the rider behind you on the route. • If you make a turn and cannot see the rider behind you, wait until they can see you before proceeding. Pick a spot to wait that doesn't expose you to danger.
How close should I ride within my pack and how close should my pack be from other packs? • 2 second stagger within the pack. • 200-300 yards or 6 to 9 seconds between packs.
What happens if you as a following rider lose sight of the pack ahead? • The sweep rider ahead will stop and wait for your pack when traffic permits or at a turning point.
What if I want to change packs? • During a break in the riding ask to swap with someone. • Stop N Go works best with 4 or less riders in a pack.
BENEFITS 1. No rider is pressured to disregard traffic signals,or run stop signs. 2. No riders are left behind. 3. Slingshotting and racing to catch up is eliminated.

This is a smart and efficient way to set up a group ride. It eliminates some big problems and is a much safer way to deal with large numbers on group rides. I like it.

I am in agreement with Dan and Rich on the Stop and Goriding technique. It has already made our group rides much safer. While some people tend to credit me with this system, I can not accept it all . There was much research and work from quite a few people that went into this. I know I speak for the Board of Directors when I say that we put the safety of our members above all else.
