The plan was to meet Dennis and Vicki, Harold and Carmen in Canada for a tour of the Quebec and Gaspe Peninsula area. Unfortunately, the ultimate planner and list-maker (me) failed to pack his passport. So instead, I toured New England and visited NE friends and family. I rode north on the beautiful Taconic Parkway and ate at the Chief Martindale diner where the club's Nova Scotia group stopped a few years ago. I got to ride on the excellent Kancamagus Hwy. in New Hampshire. The river along the highway is a perfect place for a summer swim. Visited Deer Isle on the rocky coast of Maine where I saw this guy: Here's the view from the Bed & Breakfast I stayed at on Deer Isle: The view from another place I stayed in Maine: Took the ferry from Connecticut to Long Isand: And got to see some friends and eight of my grandchildren: Included in the eight is my newest grandson, Oliver, here with his dad (my son Ryan): All in all, it was a great trip even if I didn't make it to Canada.
